We are a mixed voice choir (made up of four voice parts: sopranos, altos, tenors and basses) but find we have fewer lower voices. We’d love to encourage new tenors and basses along! Here’s what some of our current lower voice singers say about singing with us:

“Joining the Bollington Singers has been a truly rewarding experience. I didn’t know what to expect, but everyone has been really friendly and supportive. I hadn’t sang for years (OK… decades!) but with Hannah’s guidance this term culminated in a great, public performance.”

Cliff, tenor

“I joined the choir last year having hardly sung at all since a brief period in school choir many years ago but it’s been one of the best decisions I’ve made for ages! I’ve really enjoyed everything about the choir, the rehearsals, the concerts and getting to know a great bunch of people. Hannah is a fabulous leader, she challenges us and works to get the best out of us while still making it all a lot of fun.  Come and join us, you definitely won’t regret it!”

Jerry, tenor

“I really enjoy being part of Bollington Singers. Hannah strikes the right balance…..encouraging and helping us to improve our singing while maintaining a joyful atmosphere. The choir members, who cover a wide age spectrum, are friendly, sociable and supportive and the music varied and interesting.

MP3 recordings are provided which is a real help for all of us, and  particularly for those who have little or no experience of singing together. “

David, tenor

“I sing bass in Hannah’s choir & find it thoroughly up lifting. Singing has made me feel more confident and I even had the confidence to sing a solo at our last concert, which is the first time I have sung to an audience. We would love to welcome tenors and basses to our choir. Hannah puts you at ease and it’s a nice way to spend your Wednesday evening, give it a try.”

David, bass

I was reluctant at first to join the Singers. I hadn’t sung in years, and I wasn’t sure I would like the mix of music Hannah  had chosen. But my partner said ‘What have you got to lose? Give it a go!’ And so I did, and I have really enjoyed it! It’s lovely working with an enthusiastic and supportive group of people – some beginners, some experienced singers. It’s been great fun with a real sense of achievement when Hannah somehow gets us working and singing well together.”

Graham, bass
